The 2009 Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard shows the expressive aromatics of this grand cru site. Exotic spices, sandalwood, incense, cassis, and black cherry notes compose the bouquet of this deep, structured, lengthy offering. It will provide enjoyment for another decade. Veteran vigneron Lynn Penner-Ash had just celebrated a milestone birthday prior to my visit and, like her wines, she appeared to be evolving gracefully.
