The entry level 2008 Pinot Noir Premier Cuvee offers up an enticing bouquet of smoke, minerals, spice box (clove and cinnamon), and assorted black fruits. This is followed by an elegant, layered, smooth-textured wine that is packed with flavor in its medium-bodied frame. A fine, elegant Pinot Noir, still in its infancy, with bright cranberry and raspberry fruit taking center stage. A shimmering, vivid, youthful vitality elevates the fruit flavors, with juicy acidity and restrained oak influence. Though this is the least expensive wine in the Archery Summit portfolio, it may surprise those who cellar it.
