Here is a ripe and somewhat rich expression from Tuscany. Castello di Bossi's entry-level 2017 Chianti Classico is redolent of black cherry and cassis with light dusty tones of tilled earth and dried rose. The finish is simple and bright, but there is also just a touch of that extra concentration associated with this hot and dry vintage. Some 300,000 bottles were produced. Because of drought conditions, this vintage saw very low yields.
