A classical, fresh white with solid underlying minerality, crisp citrus, peach and hints of flowers, the 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc is medium-bodied, fresh and focused. Hints of green almonds emerge on the finish, and it will be a delicious wine to drink over the coming couple of years. Drink now-2015.
One of my favorite estates and run by Yannick and Corinne Gasparri, Domaine la Cote de l’Ange produces textbook, classically styled efforts that are loaded with character. Their 2010s were spectacular, and these 2011s and 2012s aren’t far behind.
