Rousseau's top wine, as one might reasonably expect, is the Chambertin. It has a good ruby color, a full-intensity bouquet of spicy new oak, and lush berry fruit, with layers of flavor, superb definition and depth, and none of the dry, astringent tannins that plague some 1986s. It should be at its best between 1992 and 2002. This wine is a star of the 1986 vintage.
