Aromatically, the 2003 Riesling Auslese Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr is held in check by sulfur. On the palate, however, it reveals a well-focused core of white pepper-laced pears, hints of citrus fruits, and a distinctive note of red cherries that comes to the fore in its extended finish. An outstanding effort, it should be drunk between 2007 and 2017.
