The 2005 Ebo reveals a pretty expression of earthiness, wild herbs, smoke and dark fruit. It offers excellent depth on the palate even if it doesn’t quite have the exotic quality or elegance of the 2004. Still, it is a very solid effort in this vintage. Ebo is Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Merlot aged predominantly in large cask, with a touch of used French oak barrels. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2018.
