Consistently one of my least favorite Pomerols, the 1982 Clos l'Eglise has never exhibited much extract, intensity, or the trademark characteristics of the vintage - sweet, expansive, ripe fruit and an opulent, chewy texture. The wine offers light-bodied, vegetal, tea-like aromas presented in a spicy, diluted format. It is clinging to life, but does anybody care? Tasted 5 times since bottling with consistent notes.
