From the Sonoma Coast, the 1998 Pinot Noir Hirsch Vineyard emerges from the Mount Eden and Pommard clones. A hedonistic Pinot Noir fruit cocktail, it is a gloriously perfumed, exquisitely ripe, rich, lusty, fruit effort. Full-bodied, with well-integrated acidity and tannin, as well as copious quantities of black cherries, currants, raspberries, smoke, and toast, this rich, silky-textured wine should be drunk during its first 5-6 years of life.
