The 2005 Shiraz Reserve “Ben Schild” is similarly styled but with more obvious oak. It is also more full-bodied and a bit richer. However, it too narrows out in the finish. Drink it over the next 6-8 years. The family owned Schild Estate dates back to the early 1950s. Their vineyard holdings now encompass 380 acres. The first Schild Estate wines were produced in 1998.Importer: Deborah Gray, The Australian Wine Connection, Carlsbad, CA; www.schildestate.com.au; Also tasted: 2005 Merlot (84), 2005 Sparkling Shiraz (90)
