The 2010 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Cairanne offers copious amounts of strawberry and black cherry fruit intermixed with underbrush/foresty/earthy notes, pepper and spice box. Dense and rich with great fruit, supple tannins and impressive purity, it should be consumed over the next 4-5 years. As I wrote last year, Domaine Boisson, not to be confused with the Domaine de Boissan, is owned by two brothers, Alain, who oversees the Cros de Romet property and Bruno, who is in charge of the Domaine Boisson cuvees. One of the finest estates in Cairanne, I have enjoyed these wines for a number of years. Like their 2007s and 2009s, the 2010s are superb efforts. Moreover, prices are ridiculously fair for such quality. Consumers looking for immediate gratification should remember the name Domaine Boisson.Importer: Alain Junguenet, Wines of France, Mountainside, NJ; tel. (908) 654-6172
