The straight 2012 Cairanne (50% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Mourvedre and 10% Carignan) is a beautiful looking tank sample. Its vibrant purple color is followed by a great bouquet of sweet blackberry, currant, ground pepper and wild herbs. This is followed by a rich, medium+ bodied Cairanne that has fantastic purity, not hard edges and superb freshness. It will be approachable on release and age gracefully for 5-6 years.
