The Cordiers seem to do well in the so-called ``off years'' (i.e., 1968 Talbot and 1974 Gruaud-Larose), so it is no surprise to see how good their 1984s are. The 1984 Talbot is 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Merlot. It is quite elegant and stylish with a lovely bouquet of spring flowers and ripe curranty fruit, medium to full body, and good tannins. It needs 2-3 years of aging. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 3/88.
