The 2007 Alte di Altesi is Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in roughly equal parts. Sweet scents of tobacco, spices, licorice and French oak flow from the glass effortlessly. The effects of the warm vintage come through in the forward, advanced quality of the fruit, which suggests that ideally the Alte di Altesi is best enjoyed sooner rather than later.
