Given the scope of this article, I have not included tasting notes for these 2008 white Chateauneuf du Papes. 2008 is a better vintage for white wines in the southern Rhone than it is for reds. The general style is one of restraint and more minerality and acidity than one normally finds in these offerings. Most of the whites are not put through malolactic to preserve acidity, so they possess refreshing styles. Nevertheless, they do not generally age well, and are best drunk during their first several years of life.
