The 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape blanc (80% Clairette and 20% Roussanne) is a superb example of the appellation, displaying a flowery, orange rind, white citrus, lemon zest, and crushed rock-scented perfume. It is long, rich, full-bodied, dry, crisp, and delicate as well as intense. A beauty, it is a naked expression of fruit and terroir. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.
