While there have been some light Pinots produced by Mount Eden, vintages such as 1985, 1987, and 1990 have been convincingly rich, Cote de Nuits-look-a-likes. The 1990 exhibits a deep ruby color, a big, earthy, spicy, black fruit-scented nose, medium to full body, excellent concentration, and plenty of lush, ripe fruit. It should drink well through the end of the century.
