The medium dark ruby-colored 1993 Le Stanze reveals evidence of new oak in the nose, along with black-cherry fruit and spice. Although austere and tannic, but with enough ripeness and sweet vanillin to provide attraction, this medium-bodied wine will age well for 5-7 years, although it will have an angular, compressed personality. This excellent winery has fashioned spicy, sweet, round, rich wines that offer plenty of black-cherry fruit intermixed with earth, leather, dried fruits, and spices.
