The estate’s 2005 Le Stanze di Poliziano is 70 % Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot that spent 16 months in new French oak. It is a deeply-colored, full-bodied wine loaded with blackberries, blueberries, new leather and spices. Today it comes across as quite primary, and needs bottle age for the tannins to settle down and for the wine to incorporate its oak. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2017.
