The white wines begin with the 2006 Gran Caus White, a blend of 50% Xarel-lo, 30% Chardonnay, and 20% Chenin Blanc. Light gold-colored, it exhibits a fragrant perfume of mineral, melon, pear, and apple. Smooth-textured and dry on the palate, it has an elegant personality and a lengthy finish. Drink it over the next three years. Can Rafols dels Caus is located in the Garraf Massif which forms part of the Catalan coastal mountain range making this a Mediterranean-influenced terroir.
