The Meursault En Luraule is a first rate village wine, better than some highly touted premier crus. From a parcel located 5 meters from the Premier Cru Goutte d'Or vineyard, the aromatically nutty En Luraule is produced from young wines which Remi severely cuts back to decrease yields and increase concentration. His hard work and obvious dedication to quality are apparent in this forward, highly extracted wine. It explodes in the mouth with a burst of ripe and toasted hazelnuts. When the vines are older, if Remi continues to keep yields down, this parcel has the potential to produce outstanding wine. Anticipated maturity: now-2003. This note is the result of tastings I did in Burgundy between January 7 and January 29.
