Moderate gold-colored, this is one of the finest wines produced at this chateau in a number of years. Sweet pain grille, toffee, and creme brulee aromas are dominated by an explosion of honeyed citrus and tropical fruit. Full-bodied, sweet, unctuously-textured, pure, and thick, with a Viognier-like overripe peach fruitiness in the flavors, this is a hefty, chewy, alcoholic Sauternes that should become more refined and subtle with extended cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2020. Last tasted 3/97
