I tasted the 1993 Barolo Bussia Darda Le Rose. While impressive, it was extremely tannic and backward. It was one of the few Barolos I have tasted from the 1993 vintage that seems capable of lasting for at least two decades. A deep ruby/plum/garnet color is followed by sweet, flowery, cedary, dried cherry aromas, and ripe, medium to full-bodied, tannic flavors with sweet fruit and glycerin, but tightly knit and backward. This is a powerful, old-styled Barolo that is atypically concentrated for the vintage. Give it another 3-4 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 15-20.
