The 2008 CONTRASTE Branco is a typical Douro blend of Rabigato, Codega do Larinho and Viosinho, which was 25% aged in oak for 6 months. Bright, clean and fresh, this is a lively wine with a friendly demeanor. Its finish and depth are average. Less complex and focused than the Branco reviewed this issue, this is perhaps even fresher, very friendly and quite charming. Drink now-2011. This relatively new winery now has an importer, and looks to be a “comer.” Energetic, young Rita Marques is making interesting wines here already. The future looks bright.
