The 1992 Chateauneuf du Pape caused producers in the village recognize just what progress Domaine de la Mordoree had made. It took first place in the producers' annual tasting of Chateauneuf du Papes, the prize of St.-Marc (making this winery the first-prize winner two of the last three years). This outstanding Chateauneuf du Pape is made in a user-friendly, full-bodied, expansive, fragrant style with gobs of red and black fruits, considerable glycerin, high alcohol, and a noteworthy velvety finish. It is a joy to drink. Drink it over the next 7-10 years. This estate has become one of the stars of the southern Rhone, making impressively constituted, delicious wines.
