While the chocolate-drenched red cherry aromas of the 2003 Charmes-Chambertin are mouth-watering, its somewhat rustic, dry tannin causes concern. This medium-bodied wine reveals considerable depth to its red cherry-crammed personality, as well as a long, fruit-filled finish, leading me to believe it could potentially survive its tannin. Projected maturity: 2009-2015.
