The 2008 Sinforiano Reserva is pure Tempranillo from clay-limestone soils around Mucientes and sees 20 months in American and French oak. It offers rounded raspberry and wild strawberry fruit on the nose, uncomplicated but clean and attractive, the oak nicely assimilated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and plenty of red berry fruit that, like other Cigales reds, adopts a Burgundian personality. There is a touch of dryness on the finish, suggesting that this should be enjoyed in its youth rather than aged much longer. Drink now-2015.
