The 2004 The Bard is a combination of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Petit Verdot, and 5% Merlot. Given a similar upbringing to the Tempest, it comes across as more structured, with plenty of sweet creme de cassis fruit intermixed with incense, pain grille, chocolate, and lavender. Dense, full-bodied, and voluptuously textured, with more power and structure than the Tempest, it should be accessible early in life, and age for 14-15 years.
