The 2007 Couhins Blanc is a blend of 85% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Sémillon and 5% Sauvignon Gris. Light straw in color, the nose offers dried honey, damp straw and a faint swimming pool (chlorine?) scent in the distance. The palate is pretty, though not complex, disjointed at first, but one notices this white Bordeaux gaining more cohesion in the glass and it finally delivers quite a lovely dried orange peel and mango finish that lingers in the mouth. Worth seeking out, as it is probably good value. Tasted January 2016.
