The 1996 Chateauneuf du Pape exhibits a light to medium ruby color with some garnet already creeping in at the edge. Made in an evolved, savory style with plenty of pepper, herbes de Provence, and sweet, jammy cherry fruit, it is medium-bodied, adequately concentrated, smooth and fruity. Drink this light, bistro-styled wine over the next 3-4 years. This estate is now owned by Pascal Roux of Chateau de Trignon.
