Don’t judge this one too quickly. It takes an inordinate amount of time to open up. Very intense and tight, it’s heavy with black fruit and licorice. Not as liberal as it may be down the line, it still sports a nice center of chewy fruit, offset by some sharp, astringent tannins. Good structure, but the finish is incomplete.——M.S.(3/1/2000)—— 88
