One of the finest Vino Nobiles I have ever tasted, this dark ruby/plum-colored 1997 offers a sweet, explosive nose of melted chocolate, cedar, saddle leather, jammy blackberry/cherry fruit, and flowers. The wine offers tremendously dense, concentrated richness, a velvety texture, low acidity, as well as this historic vintage's tell-tale high glycerin, opulence, and fruit. Drink this beauty over the next 12-15 years. Given the score vis a vis the cost, this is an exceptional value.
