The 2008 Pian di Nova, 75% Syrah and 25% Sangiovese, is a pretty, mid-weight wine laced with dried red cherries, crushed flowers, tobacco and licorice. There is good freshness in the glass, but some of the aromas and flavors are a touch advanced, and the structure is moderate, suggesting the wine is best enjoyed sooner rather than later.
