This very sweet wine, a Bordeaux-style blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, has a residual sugar of 12.2% that automatically gives it a honeyed richness. But it lacks the fruity intensity of other vintages, with the pear, pineapple and apricot flavors a bit dimmed—possibly due to a fairly hefty (nearly double, according to the winery) increase in production. It’s still a delicious wine, but one hopes it will return to previous form.——S.H.(6/1/2008)—— 87
