La Gerla's medium-bodied 2013 Rosso di Montalcino shows terrific tones of red fruit, bold cherry, toasted almond and vanilla. This is a fresh and tonic wine and what it lacks in complexity, it makes up for in good cheer and friendliness. Extreme temperature control and 12 months of Slavonian oak aging account for the wine's aromatic freshness and its textural richness. The wine is engineered for immediate consumption.
