The La Gerla 2018 Rosso di Montalcino shows spicy oak intensity that lines up nicely alongside plump and dark fruit. There is a good amount of primary intensity, with blackberry and dried cherry, to counter the wine's spice, toast and scorched earth. This Rosso shows a sunny, very Tuscan personality that makes it a perfect companion to a simple vegetable ribollita, or Tuscan bread soup. About 40,000 bottles were produced.
