The 2004 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc is an interesting blend of 70% Roussanne and 30% Bourboulenc that spent six-months in stainless steel prior to bottling. Very aromatic and perfumed, with ripe peach, hints of mint, lavender and citrus rind, it is medium-bodied, nicely textured and has solid richness that’s cut by vibrant acidity. It’s an outstanding white that will continue to evolve gracefully.
The sister duo of Sophie and Catherine Armenier produced some of the most exciting wines in the vintage.
