This is one of two new wines to join the Gianni Gagliardo portfolio with this vintage. The 2016 Barolo del Comune di La Morra draws its fruit from various vineyards in the Santa Maria subzone and from the Serra dei Turchi vineyard that is closest to the winery headquarters. With a small production of 4,260 bottles, the wine is soft and lush with generous doses of Nebbiolo fruit and oak spice. The tight and linear tannins should guide the wine forward in time.

This is rich, displaying cherry, plum, earth and menthol flavors. It's tight, too, with moderate length and dusty tannins lining the finish. Best from 2024 through 2040. 3,355 cases made, 208 cases imported.??–BS??Region: Italy / Piedmont / Barolo Select to Add
