Rosemount’s 2008 Show Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is classic Coonawarra Cabernet at a bargain price. Very deep garnet-purple, it presents pronounced warm black currant and blackberry aromas with hints of cardamom, cloves, mocha and mint. The generous, full bodied palate has great structure – a solid backbone of high acid and a medium to firm level of fine, silt-like tannins. There’s a great concentration of berry and spice flavor with just a touch of Mediterranean herbs coming through in the long finish. It’s still quite youthful and will be best approached 2012-2019+.
