The 2007 Pinot Noir Pommard Clone is the weakest link in this portfolio. While it is certainly a good wine, it has nowhere near the depth or charm of its siblings. It possesses weedy/herbaceous black cherry and currant fruit as well as decent depth, but a superficial personality overall. Consume it over the next 3-5 years.
While Fess Parker’s single vineyard and upper level cuvees are unquestionably serious wines, he also produces some of the finest values that emerge from Santa Barbara.
