The 1990 Pernand-Vergelesses-Ile de Vergelesses exhibits an excellent plummy color, a big, spicy, oaky, earthy nose, fine flavor extraction, and a chunky, chewy finish. While there is significant tannin, the fruit is concentrated. Drink it over the next decade. Dubreuil has always made fashionable, elegant, light-colored wines known for their finesse, not to mention their precociousness and easy drinkability. I thought the 1990s to be the densest, most highly extracted wines I have tasted from this cellar. Importer: Martine's Wines, San Rafael, CA.
