The garnet-colored 2004 Reserva had malolactic fermentation in barrel followed by aging in 20% new French oak for 18 months. It offers up an enticing nose of cedar, violets, mineral, cassis, and cherry. On the palate it is a bit compact but tasty with enough structure to evolve for 2-3 years. The additional bottle aging may well bring harmony to this pleasant effort.
