The 2000 Chianti Classico has a Barolo-like nose of resin, tar, and floral notes along with its black cherries and plums, though the palate, polished, elegant, stylish, and very continuous, is clearly Tuscan, not Piedmontese. Drink: 2005-2012.
Note: at press time, Castello di Ama was in the process of changing their American importer.
