A release of just 2,000 bottles, the Terre del Principe 2015 Piancastelli is a blend of about two-thirds Pallagrello Nero and one-third Casavecchia. This is a bold and modern wine with thick concentration, extracted fruit weight and a deep, dark or velvety appearance. It has plenty of oak that heavily influences both the bouquet and the mouthfeel. This wine is the proverbial too-much-of-a-good-thing, and there is a lot of oak toast and spice for your senses to navigate. It's a bit much, and all that extra power and exuberance of the 2015 vintage is put on broad display.
