The 2013 Beaune Greves Vignes de l’Enfant Jesus, a four-hectare monopole, was showing just a touch of reduction but there is satisfactory delineation on the nose with lifted blackberry and raspberry coulis scents nicely integrated with the oak. The palate is fresh and crisp on the entry with a keen line of acidity, exerting an insistent grip on the lightly spiced, soy-tinged finish that lends it a sense of masculinity. A case of nobility falling short.
