Better, the flagship 2011 Estate Perigee is a rocking blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 6% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot that comes from the windblown loess soils of the Seven Hills Vineyard outside of Walla Walla. Concentrated, rich and with solid structure, this medium to full-bodied effort has classic black raspberry, cassis, lead pencil, toast and assorted spices to go with building tannin, solid mid-palate depth and impressive length. It will have over a decade of total longevity.
This was another fine set of releases from proprietors Megan and Marty Clubb. One of the original estates in Walla Walla, their entire lineup is solid, and in most cases, represents value.
