The texture is soft and makes the wine feel lush at first, but there is a sharp edge to the finish, and not much depth. Simple vanilla notes appear on the relatively short finish, but it does wake up and show some fruit and harmony with about twenty minutes of aeration. There is a certain gamey note on the nose, although the palate is more pristine. This is a fairly simple quaffer, but it is pleasant and shows some intensity, a little tannic grip on the finish after a little aeration. During its brief prime, it projects some pleasing blackberry flavors that might win some fans. It goes nowhere with more aeration and it is ultimately rather simple at this point in its life. It may hold, but cellaring is not likely to improve it, so drink it sooner rather than later. Drink now-2010. There were 375 cases produced.
