The 2005 Ramitello Rosso is 80% Prugnolo and 20% Aglianco aged in large neutral casks and steel. This pure, engaging red opens with sweet, perfumed aromatics that lead to layers of dark cherries, smoke, earthiness and tar. Clean, mineral notes help give the wine its notable persistence and length. All in all, this is an incredibly delicious wine for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2012. Di Majo Norante is located in Molise, one of the least well-known regions in Italy. Proprietor Alessio Di Majo and consulting oenologist Riccardo Cotarella make plump, richly-flavored wines that offer incredible value for the money.A Leonardo Lo Cascio Selection, Winebow, Montvale, NJ; tel.
