The 2012 Faunus is a blend of Carinena, Tempranillo, Merlot and Syrah aged for eight months in a mixture of American and French oak barrels. Ripe fruit, aromas of banana skin, pollen, beeswax, rosemary and thyme with ripe damson and black cherry aromas compose its nose and flavors, with a spicy finish and good balance. This is a bargain. Drink now-2017.
Ediciones i-Limitadas is one of the latest adventures of architect, entrepreneur and wine passionate Alfredo Arribas, whose Montsant and Priorat wines you’ll also find in this report. I’m not too sure what are the reasons for having all these separate projects producing wines from the same regions and often fermented and aged in the same premises, but there you go. Here they also produce Montsant and Priorat wines, and the Priorat wine from Edidciones i-Limitadas somehow escaped from the Priorat article so I included it here.
