The unusual blend of Syrah, Tempranillo and Cari?ena called 2013 Faunus was fermented in small stainless steel vats and matured in French oak for eight months. I found some notes of raw meat, tempera paint, ink and leather that coat the ripe black cherries and give it an overall animal character. The palate is medium-bodied with dusty tannins and a dry finish. 7,327 bottles were produced.

The 2012 Faunus is a blend of Carinena, Tempranillo, Merlot and Syrah aged for eight months in a mixture of American and French oak barrels. Ripe fruit, aromas of banana skin, pollen, beeswax, rosemary and thyme with ripe damson and black cherry aromas compose its nose and flavors, with a spicy finish and good balance. This is a bargain.
