The 2021 Pinot Gris Carneros reveals scents of struck flint and crushed stone set against a backdrop of pear and citrus. Fermented and aged in stainless steel "barrels," it's a medium to full-bodied effort, plump, rounded, ripe and easy to drink, with a long, silky, lemony finish.

The 2019 Pinot Gris Carneros comes prancing out of the glass with bold scents of ripe Bosc pears, peach cobbler and apple pie with a hint of spice cake. Medium-bodied and dry, with soft acidity to contribute just enough freshness, it has bright, crunchy apple and pears flavors with a spicy kick to the finish. 3,679 cases were made.

The 2018 Pinot Gris Carneros opens with wonderfully pure notes of ripe pears, fresh peaches and applesauce plus hints of marzipan and honeysuckle. Medium-bodied, the palate is refreshing and understated with subtle apple and stone fruit nuances and a quiet intensity to the finish. 3,640 cases were made.

The 2017 Pinot Gris Carneros comes from Etude's estate vineyard Grace Benoist Ranch. It reveals a nose of poached pears, aniseed, applesauce and white pepper with a waft of peach blossoms. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and zippy in the mouth with loads of spices and an apple-laced finish. 1,950 cases produced.

The 2016 Pinot Gris Carneros is redolent of warm peaches, spiced pears and apple blossoms with hints of anise and white pepper. Medium-bodied with a pleasant touch of oiliness to the texture, it has a very crisp backbone lifting the ripe fruit and spice flavors, finishing on a yeasty note.
